Just heard a RHR archive from right after Coldcard implemented the software we now know is bad. Their word were definitive statements about how it was a big security upgrade. They didn’t hedge their statement with something like, “according to Coinkite this upgrade improves the security of the Coldcard”. They said it does. They were implying they had the expertise to give that endorsement. So yeah, they have something to apologize about. They don’t have to, but it’s also reasonable for listeners to not trust their opinions again if they don’t.
