The flag they fly now is the government flag because when they took over they stuffed all the radical Islam shit on there. This is the Iranian people's flag.
I personally do not get the slightest feeling of US government when I look at the flag. I dont think that people looking at the US flag and thinking it represents the government is something anyone ever felt until recently like last 20 years when protesters and politicians started using it like the dogs they are.
If you grew up in the 70s or earlier the flag represents the people, freedom, possibility, etc. That has probably been stolen from the youth and you are far worse off for it.
