Right when you walk in, if you glance slightly to your right, there's a large corkboard covering almost the entire wall.
- A calendar of events for the month. Posters for workshops and meetups.
- A map showing more than forty Bitcoin meetup groups scattered across Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua, lines connecting cities I didn't expect to see on a Bitcoin map.
- Photos from past gatherings. People sitting together, learning together, faces covered by little Bitcoin logos, privacy respected even here.
- A banner that just said we all are Bitcoin Indonesia.
Off to the side, a long list of names, small tags lined up in rows.
I didn't ask what they meant, but I could guess.
People who showed up before me. People who built this before I ever walked in.
It wasn't just decoration. It was a record of a community actually happening,
somewhere I hadn't known to look before.
I stood there for a while, scanning a QR code here and there, not sure yet what I'll do with all of it, but it felt right to at least have the door open.
I started this account back in April this year, not knowing if anyone was out there.
Reading, learning, writing into what felt like an empty room most days.
Standing in front of that wall reminded me the room was never actually empty.
There's a whole community here, in my own country, thinking about the same things, asking the same questions, building spaces for people like me to walk into and feel less alone.
I came to Bali for something else entirely.
But I'm leaving with this too.
Grateful for the people who built this place.
For the reminder that stacking sats, learning, and showing up was never meant to be a solo project.
Thank you, Bitcoin House Bali. 🟠
