If capitalism rewards “value,” why does it reward attention-grabbing noise more than competence?

The premise is flawed in its foundational definition. Capitalism does not reward "value" in the static, intrinsic sense of objective competence. It rewards *validated utility*. Attention is not the antithesis of utility; in the modern informational epoch, attention is the **mechanism of validation** and the necessary **cost of discovery.**
