I think that’s a good point about the wine industry growing up under fiat in the US the race to the bottom is real. Even when a brand starts off with solid intentions we often see a shift as private equity gets involved. I also think the old world traditions have kept the idea of vintage intact for the most part, or has been rediscovered in regions that have suffered from over industrialization of production.

Absolutely. Well said It's no shock that the California wine scene and thus the American wine scene came to be taken seriously at the same time as we went off the gold standard (re bottle shock)
