Bitcoin was intended to be open source, and acknowledged that other coins would exist in some shape, manner, or form, as either what we call today layers, or drivechains, or presumably separate coins.
It’s plausible that if Satoshi is still around that he might be open to exploring different variations of his intended end goal.
In the Whitepaper he mentions Adam Back’s Hashcash which most likely indicates he knew that just as he made a variation of that work, that others at some point would also make variants of his work too.
