The NFC piece is what changes everything here. Lightning is brilliant but it asks merchants to care about payment channels — Cashu ecash asks them to care about nothing except tapping. For a coffee shop owner, that gap is enormous. Offline capability for small amounts, no extra hardware, no UX explanation required. This is how you get adoption at the counter instead of just at the conference.
