What if the server hosting your private group chats was just… your phone? We just made it possible. Install the Cordn Coordinator app, press Start, and even an old Android phone lying on your desk becomes the heart of your groups. No VPS, no 20-step tutorial, just an APK.
This is sovereignty no other messaging service offers. With Cordn, the entire delivery coordinator runs on a device you own: no company that can shut you down, no server you don't control. If you rely on someone else's infrastructure, you are not sovereign.
It's the same open-source Rust coordinator (cordn-rs), packaged as an Android app:
🔌 One button. It runs as a foreground service in its own process. Close the app, ignore the phone, your groups keep being served.
🔐 Infra you own. The Nostr identity is generated on-device, its private key sealed in the Android Keystore, the data in app-private storage.
🔗 Easy to share. Show the QR or the cordn.net link, and your friends' Cordn clients add your coordinator in one scan.
♻ An old phone is perfect hardware: screen, battery, wifi. Give it a second life as the most private comms server in your house.
