For anyone planning to: Election Day is Tuesday, Nov 3. Federal law sets it as the Tuesday after the first Monday in November in even years (2 USC 7).
If you still need to register, deadlines are set by each state, and some close right about now. California's online and mail deadline, for example, is 15 days before Election Day, which is today (Oct 19), though you can still register in person there up to and including Election Day. vote.gov lists every state's deadlines and links to check your registration.
