@nprofile1q... I have something similar to the T. rex thing: "USB." When people talk about USB DRIVES but they say something like "plug in the USB." USB is a standard including protocols, connectors, and a large number of different types of devices. You might as well be saying "plug in the collection of documents outlining the standards" — which sounds like it would be rather difficult to fit into that tiny little port to me. And, even if we put that aside, there are a lot of different types of USB devices and connectors. This doesn't differentiate between, say, a phone, and a flash drive...
Another one driving me insane is people who write "then" when they mean "than." I get that some accents pronounce them the same, but how do you not know how to write the correct one?
