Someone seeking a romantic relationship often changes their behaviour to gain the approval of the person they desire. Many relationships are built on “liking what the other likes,” creating the appearance of compatibility rather than genuine compatibility. In that sense, romance can is a form of acting... which makes it fitting for actors to fall in love on movie sets.... there’s already pretence and they fall for it.
