MMT is just a description of how fiat money systems operate. If it is marxism, then the current fiat money systems are marxist.

I don't see how it is Marxist though myself, it certainly isn't in any way trying to put the workers in control of the means of production.

It just explains how governments create fiat money from thin air and how that money is controlled and destroyed through taxation.
