We do already have a ticket for this. One of those "Would love to do it, right after the fifty other top priorities" kind of issues that struggles to get our attention unfortunately.

May be easier and faster to just run your own f-droid repo, then users can just add it to their f-droid. Then you do not have to go through the process of trying to get added, which may be not too easy. https://f-droid.org/docs/Setup_an_F-Droid_App_Repo/
