are you mixing up the heifer story with this? that was actually a real story--no symbology implied.

that heifer was black angus. and a lot of the herd is red with white faces. the locals call them pig-nosed cows because their nostrils turn up a little compared to the popular black angus.

the whole story is more of a mess. i live next to a farm --> i walk out to my car to get to work. I saw a cow that was outside the fence, desperate to get in.

so i ran around the fence calling for her, so she would come through the gate. when she got in with the herd, they all started running around, shoving her around. that's when i realized my mistake.

the purple ear tag had bothered me, but the cow was so anxious to get with the herd, that i figured it must belong in there.

they can get agitated and run through fences with a heifer that's not from the herd and agitated.

also, they can bring diseases. so we are talking about 100$ of dollars of destroyed fences and shots, etc.

so i was trying to help out, and really messed up a bunch of stuff yesterday
