How about not caring about statists? Don't give the state your attention and they won't have any power.
In an ideal world sure, but the state is a long way from losing power that way and as much as you can stop caring about the state it will keep caring about you.
It may not be the way you specifically go about making the world better, but having better people in positions of power does make a difference on the margins
