Britain invented the computer and the TV at exactly the same time the rest of the world did. The concept of invention is weird, because most inventions are logical extensions of previous technologies...

are you suggesting the theory that technology is seeded into multiple people's brains at once?

i believe something similar happened with fixed winged flight. the Brazilians have someone they claim invented it at the same time as the Wright brothers.

there were the Lumiere bros in Lyon with cinematography while Edison was doing hist hing.

I'm not sure I'd put it in those terms, but yes, once the tools are lying on the bench, the invention becomes a natural evolution. So yes, history states that the Wright brothers invented flight, but there were lots of people trying with the same tools, materials and ideas in many countries all aro...
