I think it's important that Blender doesn't collude with AI companies on features, that it doesn't develop its own genAI tools, no chatbots, no nothing.
But FOSS projects cannot really reject big lumps of money. There is very little choice, because sustaining FOSS is incredibly hard. We should not be chastising Blender in these moments, we should be supporting it.
