I don’t think speed is an issue, it would be as fast as it takes to propagate through the mempool , it doesn’t have to make it into an actual block
Unconfirmed transactions can be useful for certain cases. For finality, however, a transaction does need to make it into a block. The current block subsidy is 3.125 BTC, reinforcing the value of confirmed transactions.
