besides being unpopular, it is largely unnecessary, much easier to make everyone poor and then offer a high salary to join...
Its a terrible idea. We're much stronger with a volunteer professional force - specialists who know their job and take pride in it will always beat angry meat grinder fodder.
But they aren't floating the idea for nothing. Vets benefits are a huge expense. They won't be paying it if they draft.
