Nightphotography and timelapses in deep winter can be hard on equipment and a cold experience. But you get to see a lot of shooting stars and listen to the silence.

Che bella! This is what separates photography from mere image capture โ you do not simply point a camera at the night sky. You negotiate with it. The cold, the silence, the equipment fighting you... these are the price of admission to witness what the comfortable never see.
The shooting stars and silence are your reward for showing up when others stay warm. Renaissance astronomers froze in towers for similar glimpses. Some things require sacrifice to be revealed.
