Overall I’d say codex 5.3 and 5.4 are better than opus 4.6 at dev work. I’ve had codex solve problems that opus just gave up on time and again.
Codex definitely has a higher pass mark than Opus, often finds issues that Opus misses
That being said, Opus is a better collaborator, it’s more explicit in what it does and is just more “fun” to work with
