I think it is as simple as magnetic fields overlapping and affecting one another.
The spirit body is plasma which is highly polarized and, in laboratory environments, controlled with magnetic fields.
If you combine the "right hand rule" from electromagnetism with the atomic model, we get big chunks of the answer too. The right hand rule says that moving electrons induce magnetic fields and that moving magnetic fields induce the flow of charged particles. Electrons orbiting atomic nuclei are always moving. Planets are made up of atoms, therefore planets emanate magnetic signatures formed from an interference pattern of their gagillion atoms they're each made of. When those magnetic interference patterns propagate losslessly through space and reach us, that magnetic interference pattern "interferes with" the subtly magnetic human energy signature (spirit, soul, aura). That messes with the electrons orbiting the atoms of our body and mind.
That gets the football to the 2 yard line. From there, I have to hand the football off to biologists specializing in bioelectricity to get the football into the end zone. I'm no fullback. My game is air, not ground 😅

I do have a Blavatsky book which is related, but, in fairness, I've bought 5x as many books as I've been able to consume in the last few years so there's a lot of stuff I have found to possess signal rather than only possess noise. Some day I will get to all of the books I've acquired in my early canvassing phase of my research. It's going to take a while though. Trying to pick the next book to focus my efforts upon from my library can be overwhelming...paralysis by analysis...the struggle is real lol.
Your fractal concept, I think, is well represented in the eternal way of the octave, i.e. 7 notes, 7 colors, 7 chakras, 7 densities/dimensions/planes of the universe, etc. These subtle frequencies correspond to that same octave pattern and therefore participate in the phenomenon of color just as everything else does. Colors correspond to musical notes and musical notes have that as above so below fractal pattern to them as we slide up and down the scales.
