Sitcom: without a doubt, "Corner Gas" (CTV). Set in a small prairie town, created by someone from such a town - and immediately recognizable to anyone who's spent any time on the prairies. We felt seen - and it was funny as hell. I think what pushed it above and beyond was the fact that it didn't come out of a committee like pretty much every CBC sitcom since ... leaded gasoline, probably.
There were a bunch of good scifi series that came out of canada over the last twenty years, but I won't go over those in detail. It would be hard to pick just two.
