Other RPGs that turn 40 this year include my favorite of all time (Ghostbusters), Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, HârnMaster, and Greg Costikyan's The Price of Freedom, a game so '80s that it still makes "Where's the beef?" jokes.
1986 was also the year I properly became a gamer, found a game shop to call home, and did in fact sleep there a few times, in a space between two peg-boards loaded with used paperbacks. 😊
