Well he used to recommend it and had a video guide on how to do it which is why I did it. I'm not sure about him not recommending it, maybe he was suggesting that if it made people nervous then they could rely on the device RNG. I would imagine he has always thought dice rolls are safer but I haven't heard him recommending against it.
