I used to LIKE working restaurant, retail and sales. Loved it, really, but it was a very different era back then. I worked those type of jobs from 1986 through 1996 before switching over completely to an IT career and it was a GOOD era to work retail. I saw it go to shit not long after that, even while other jobs were getting better, easier or expanding and paying better. Now.. it's got to be truly horrible.
