Can someone who's more green fingered than me tell me is this is giant hogweed please? It's all over one of our fields, so if it is I'll need to get someone in to get rid of it. https://kevquirk.com...

@nprofile1q... I can usually tell giant hog weed and common hogweed apart. The common one being native and non toxic.

Generally gaint hog weed is green stem with purple blotches and only hairs under the leaf at the stem. Your picture has a completely purple stem and entirely hairy. Suggesting common.

However the leaf I am seeing is almost like a giant hog weed leaf as it's quite serrated and has heavy cuts.

So I'm on the fence.  I'd definitely get it checked, or wait and see if it grows to 15 feet🤔

If it's normal hogweed I'm happy to leave it as it's great for the local bees. I might just cut some down and rub my arm ...
