almost every programming language has a way to compute new terms/expressions
afaik none have a way to compute new statements
and many people hack solutions to this. this is quite common in JS actual...
@nprofile1q... wdym by statements? i read your replies to azul and i'm still confused. i assumed you meant imperative computation like array assignment or for loops or something, and i was thinking that any "function" in an imperative language is basically a way to "compute a statement" in this sense. but maybe you mean the thing i would call a declaration or definition?
