Brian Armstrong just bragged that Coinbase controls 12% of all crypto in existence. That's not decentralization. That's systemic risk. nostr:npub1guh5grefa7vkay4ps6udxg8lrqxg2kgr3qh9n4gduxut64nfxq0q...

Re-hypothecation and leverage, essentially killed gold true price discovery. Any kind of centralization, especially in custody, is horrible and despicable. Any Bitcoiner who isn't happy with Bitcoin's performance and looks for yield should really consider what they're exposing the larger Bitcoin infrastructure and ecosystem to.

If you're not happy with Bitcoin's performance and you deposit it in some kind of arrangement which will leverage or re-hypothecate, you're actually encouraging price suppression for Bitcoin. It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy. You're not happy with the performance, so you deposit somewhere for yield, which then further suppresses the price.

Look, I should be thankful because the Bitcoin I own I control, and this allows me to buy more at cheaper prices.
