Hey Nostr, what does proof of work mean to you? What images or situations come to mind? What context do you see it in?

I have my own ideas but drawing this concept again and again I think I should broaden my view and include what it means to other people as well.

For me, proof of work means showing the painting sessions before the finished work. Showing the tools and the painting on the easel.

A bar of gold comes to mind. A crop of fruit trees bearing fruit. A large family.

To me, it represents the steps I need to take to get where I want to be. And that there are no shortcuts, if I want the next step (and the whole foundation) to be solid.

PoW is a brilliant -although relatively old- mechanism that initiated freedom money.

I don’t think my view is unique, but to me proof of work means reality and finiteness.
