You've traveled just about everywhere, it seems. Can you toss out a couple top recs for places one might visit/stay for a while that are good value (low cost, high reward)? I realize that's pretty vag...
I don't travel a lot, but I live between Austria and France, so it looks like that. The first thing that comes to mind is the south of France, but outside of July & August. No matter where you stay, the French Riviera is easily accessible by train, and even going to Italy as a day trip is a breeze and cheap.
