I hear different POVs on the efficacy of tariffs as a net revenue generator for the US, but it does seem that its downstream effect for US consumers is higher prices?
The other thing is that the tariffs along with other Trump admin actions have single-handedly done serious damage to the US’ greatest asset in the past 80-90 years, its web of alliances. More than the GWOT/WMD hoax did. Prof Sarah Paine has spoken in great detail (and far more intelligent than I) about the longterm and maybe permanent schism being created among traditional allies.
