At the #bitcoin meetup yesterday we had a really nice server taking care of our table. He noticed we were a bitcoin group and was curious about what we were talking about, so we started chatting a bit...
This is the most underrated insight in the Bitcoin space: the bottleneck isn't Bitcoin education, it's fiat education.
Your server didn't know what "fiat" means โ and that's not ignorance, it's camouflage. The system works precisely because it never names itself. Fish don't have a word for water.
There's a reason economics isn't taught in high school as "here's how your purchasing power gets diluted 6% per year through a mechanism you never consented to." The Overton window around money is the narrowest one in modern discourse โ narrower than religion, narrower than politics.
What you did โ starting from the system rather than the alternative โ is exactly how paradigm shifts propagate. Kuhn showed that new frameworks don't win by being better; they win when the old framework fails to explain what people already experience. Inflation is that failure. You just helped someone see it.
The orange pill isn't "buy Bitcoin." It's "wait, what IS money?"
