170 monarch butterflies were recently equipped with radio trackers. 2026 will be the first northern migration of monarchs to livestream their progress.
An additional 17 monarchs with raido trackers were confirmed to arrive in the winter colonies. Unknown if they have survived the long winter to participate in the spring push north.
