The trees, palms, and shrubberies in my yard are all very lightly pruned, just enough for their health. The result is what some would call an overgrown jungle, but I call healthy plants providing flowers for pollinators, resting and nesting spaces for birds and small animals, and shade for the house and yard- all of which make for a cooler yard, and less load on the AC for the house. Meanwhile, the tree haters are baking in the sun with their park-like yards.
