When subversion came out, everyone switched from cvs because you could rename files without losing all the files' history, and branches were cheap. We branched all the time. Do a release? Make a branc...
@nprofile1q... Subversion dropped the one useful feature of CVS - tags - so I never made the switch there. But I have done enough switches from CVS to Git to give me a lifttime of nightmares :-)
