i stepped away from the church after JPII.
the Pope's have done nothing to protect the flock since him. Even JP2 was laxed in some areas. When my local parish sold church to pay off court cases of priests who were systemically transfered, i came to see the corruption.
In hindsight, it has always been such. I now follow the word and follow the professed catholic tenets to the best of my ability.
