By "leave behind" I mean an EXODUS, a cessation of belief in and reverence for statism, and the adoption instead of an entirely alternate allegiance to a radically different way of life.

The only one "bigger and badder" than nation-states is Jesus/God himself, and I fully expect him to "pick up the the slack" for every community with the courage to leave "territorial jurisdiction/nationalism" thinking in the filthy dustbin of history where it belongs.
