I wonder if you could still play through all the pokemon generations from 1 to 9 and continue moving your pokemon team with it.

I think in a different order it would be possible:

I could start the 1st gen with the remakes firered/leaf green on a emulator.

Then I would need an DS emulator that supports loading my gba rom at the same time as a DS rom. That way I could use the transfer feature in the gen 4 games to move the pokemon into this edition.

Gen 4 to gen 2 is easy since you can just move the pokemon over via regular trade.

Gen 2 to gen 5 is a bit more tricky but since I got access to two 3ds it should still be easily possible.

Now Gen 5 to gen 6 is where it gets tricky. Moving pokemon from gen 5 requires the use of the PokeMover in Connection with Pokemon Bank.
Two services that have been discontinued with the end of the 3DS.
And even if I get those two services to work I am not sure if the cheat protection will let me move pokemon that originated from a ROM :/

6 to 7 Gen will also be difficult again since, again trading requires to use pokemon Bank which has been shuttered.
As soon as I left the 3ds and managed to move onto the switch it would be smooth sailing from there with the help of pokemon home.

So Gen 1->4->2->5->6->3->7->8->9 and I would be done.
The question is, can it even still be done :blobfoxthink:
