I don't have any issue using AI to help debug and figure out what is going wrong when things break. On the flip side, I don't think it's a great idea to let the AI write the code itself. I'm not a coder by profession but I am trying to enter the world of microcontrollers, and I am learning how to code as part of that.
I do find myself using AI to help me figure out when certain things aren't going right, or if I'm not 100% certain how to get to a certain point with my code, but I almost always try to do it on my own first. And then if I do use the AI to help me, I try to make the code my own rather than just copy-pasting it from the AI results. Further, I also try to get the AI to elaborate and explain where I was going wrong or what I need to do to learn how to improve upon what I'm struggling with.
In general, my philosophy on AI is that it's a great tool, but people need to realize that replacing entire swaths of their life with it will only make people lazy and cripple their skillset.
