Why does it feel like nobody remembers that a former (and maybe future) U.S. President was almost assassinated live on TV just 10 days ago?

in only 2 weeks there hasnt been enough time to forget. meanwhile the world turns. the decentralized world is more important than the governments that parties squabble over.
