Really don’t get why people like Kara Swisher are advocating for wealth taxes. Like she’s rich af by normal people standards, and zero chance she’s paying more in taxes than the absolute minimum she can get away with. She almost certainly pays an accountant thousands of dollars to help her with this.
If giving money to the government is a good thing, then lead by example, biatch. The same argument of “well, they can afford it” leveled by you, can be leveled AT you by someone poorer. And there is always someone poorer unless you destroy everyone’s capacity to create wealth entirely. Only then you will be free of the problem, as you’ll be totally preoccupied with basic survival.
