It doesn’t take much to be better than anything state made. Fiat is literally just IOU’s at this point, and yes I have bought a few shirts and some food with bitcoin :)

When you transact with Bitcoin you’re not trusting any third party. No corporation or government-controlled banking rails are involved. It’s you and the person/service you’re dealing with, nobody else. I purchased two pins from this guy yesterday using Bitcoin. nostr:note1ga93umfkhgcqvfes8kr...

I’ve used BTC to purchase VPN service. No register an account, fill out credit card info, etc. Did it over the site’s Tor onion address too. Felt like a true cypherpunk for moment!

#bitcoin tops fiat because of instant settlement. There’s no waiting for “X business days” for your transaction to clear. As for using it in payments, yes. And it was soooo much easier 🧡🙏 No filling out tons of stuff and doxing my info. Just copy and paste an address or scan a QR code.

Literally yesterday So Pick n Pay is a big supermarket chain and they accept #Bitcoin in South Africa https://i.imgur.com/JXcweA0.jpg

Here's an example of why #Bitcoin is a better payment method than fiat: me paying a foreign vpn-provider: they only accept the local currency or bitcoin. I can't transact in the local currency, but I can pay for it with bitcoin. 😃

There are millions of people they don’t have bank accounts neither they are eligible to open a bank account according to bank . When there is crisis people can convert their whole asset to bitcoin and go anywhere in the world without carry anything #bitcoin for everyone . Decentralized money for...

Bitcoin is decentralized and not controlled by any central authority. This means that there is no government or financial institution that can manipulate the value of Bitcoin, as can be the case with fiat currency. This decentralization can also make Bitcoin more resistant to inflation, as the total...

I sent money to a family member a few months back. It took 45 days! Plus I had to fill out multiple forms, photocopies of ids, etc… The whole time I was thinking, #bitcoin definitely fixes this. 10 minutes (including final settlement). Fiat doesn’t stand a chance! #bitcoin is the apex predator ...

I'm not a merchant but I hear chargebacks are a major pain in the a$$. #Bitcoin (and ⚡) fixes this with settlement that is final.

I had a very early Bitcoin wallet (around 2012) which was a node although I didn’t fully realise it at the time. I spent some of the sats which if I remember correctly was 0.05 BTC on a gift card . I lost the rest when my computer broke down. 😄🤷‍♀️

Anyone who has dealt with international wires knows exactly how slow and inefficient tradfi can be. I’ve sent dozens of wires to China and they take 4-10 days, you have no idea where the debit-message is within the half-dozen intermediaries it has to pass through, and are left hopefully waiting th...

Another arena where #Bitcoin shines is when executing a real estate tx. Anyone who has sold a house knows that it takes a week+ for the banks / lenders / escrow to complete the transaction. It also “costs” the seller thousands between all of the intermediaries taking a bite. Bitcoin can simp...

I am very new to Bitcoin. I have been in it about 4 weeks. I have already started my own Bitcoin an lightning node. The lightning network is an absolute paradigm shift in the way money flows. Just with the zaps in nostr alone, it has the ability to incentivize better posting. I am not sure we even k...
