I also am a product of Christian schooling from kindergarten through university graduation.

Since my unsought encounter with a Native American Medicine Man over 37 months ago, I've been avidly researching all religions, past and present.

I've learned in that research that humans are bad at transmitting information without allowing distortion to corrupt the message.

That said, when it comes to religion, most people are fearful dogmatists who harbor massive cognitive dissonance when it comes to living the Golden Rule. As such, most people fail to love their neighbors and, instead, treat their neighbors as Sirens of Satan who seek to lead others to hellfire and damnation.

I'm not sure what "the mark of the beast" truly refers to, but I can all but guarantee that most people speculating on it are woefully uninformed on the subject of religion simply because they've typically only studied one religion, maybe two if they're a convert. Their hearts are afflicted with fear so they don't study the words and ways of their neighbors. That same fear-affliction shows up in the "mark of the beast" speculation.
