A lot of random thoughts:
This BIP-110 stuff was a humbling experience, a great reminder that no one really knows what bitcoin is, as it can be many things to each individual and the ecosystem has gotten a lot bigger. I see it mainly through the lenses of a monetary maxi, since Austrian economics is what led me to btc. I still think it is mainly a monetary network but I don't think anyone can truly say it will stay that way even though that would be best, in my opinion.
If your enemy is the state, I can only assume the most foul and dirty play will be used on their behalf. Infiltration, deception, double speak, gas lighting, etc. Whether the state won this battle or BIP110ers were simply delusional, doesn't matter, our enemy is at the gates or most likely amongst our ranks (probably since the early years) and we can't let our guard down. Just like the spammers, we have to keep on fighting back.
I highly doubt I will fork off, but I try to stay open to ideas. Bitcoin is our only chance to separate money and state, so I think it's worth sticking around, maybe an unseen solution is around the corner. I will say though, my enthusiasm in the space has gone down.
I will run knots without BIP-110, core is dead to me. Many people showed their true colors on both sides, which led me to gain or lose respect for them.
It is what it is. Time to keep on building and touch the grass, my 4 small children and wife depend on it.
