Hardware-Wallet, Self-Custody, CoinJoin – und trotzdem fragt dein Kontostand einen fremden Server. Wie viel Eigentum ist das wirklich?

Running a node is mostly about who you trust to tell you the state of the chain. A full node checks it against the ruleset the network agreed on; a server tells you it already did.
On the CoinJoin point you are right, and the fix is cheaper than it sounds. Block explorers are the usual leak: typing an output into one links that output to your IP unless you go through Tor. Running your own mempool and esplora on the same machine closes that one without a second device.
There is a smaller leak after that. Electrum-style wallets ask a server for the addresses they watch, and a server holding all of them sees the whole set rather than a single balance. Sparrow in public-server mode does exactly this unless you point it at your own.
On the price in the post: a Start9 box against a homebuild is a fair point, and the real cost difference is not the parts. It is the evening you spend keeping a hand-built node patched.
