Keypair knowledge is not the only barrier.

I am quite tech-savvy and understand the underlying concept yet joining nostr was a challenge.

Your simple explanation nupub… : nsec… is nowhere to be found when starting out. I also didn't understand where my data would be saved.

I had to test almost all the known apps to figure it out by myself and read additional docs to truly grasp the concept. Any barrier, no matter how minor, creates friction that drives users away at this stage.

You do not reach people if there are no people to talk to. Which also means you are not able to disrupt societies which are run by corrupt people. Why wouldn't you want that? Why wouldn't you want mass adoption of decentralized networks for different experience levels?

You can customize your feed anyway why would you even care at this point?

However, if you think people are pigeons shitting all over the place and you want smart conversations just install a forum and only open it up to "smart" people you want to talk to. Technology already exists for that. This however defies the whole purpose of having a decentralized protocol.
