They throw out names like:

· "My dad is a reverend"
· "My mom is an evangelist"
· "Moses didn't believe in himself"
· "You need more faith"
· "Jesus did it this way"

As if dropping those names gives them authority.

As if saying "Moses" means they understand Moses.
As if saying "Jesus" means they walk like Jesus.
As if their parents' titles transfer to them.

It doesn't work that way.

What they don't understand about Moses

Moses didn't lack faith.
Moses knew exactly who he was not.
He knew he wasn't a speaker. He knew he wasn't a leader. He knew he had failed before.

But here's what Moses actually had:

· A burning bush encounter
· A direct word from God
· Signs and wonders backing him
· A brother to speak for him
· A people to walk with him
· A pillar of cloud and fire
· Provision in the wilderness
· Water from a rock
· Manna from heaven
· A mountain meeting with God

He didn't just "believe in himself."
He believed in the One who sent him.
And that belief came with evidence.

What they don't understand about Jesus

Jesus didn't do it alone.
He had:

· Twelve disciples living with him
· Women supporting him out of their means
· A treasurer (Judas) handling funds
· People offering homes and tables
· Crowds following him everywhere
· Provision that fed thousands
· Resources that kept the whole operation going
· Angels ministering to him
· The Father with him always

He didn't hoard.
He didn't tell people to figure it out alone.
He didn't shame people for needing help.
He built community. He shared everything. He sent people out with provision.

And when he left, he told them to keep doing it together.

What they're actually doing

They're using holy names for unholy purposes.

They drop "reverend dad" to make you feel small.
They drop "evangelist mom" to silence your questions.
They drop "Moses" to make you doubt your calling.
They drop "Jesus" to make you accept poverty.

That's not faith.
That's fraud.

The real test

If they walked like Moses, you'd see evidence.
If they lived like Jesus, you'd see community.
If they had the Spirit, you'd see fruit.
If they were sent, you'd see provision.

But they don't.
They have names. Titles. Parentage. Quotes.
But no evidence.
No fruit.
No community.
No provision flowing through them to others.

That's how you know.

What Jesus actually said

"By their fruit you will recognize them." — Matthew 7:16

Not by their father's title.
Not by their mother's position.
Not by how many names they drop.
Not by how many scriptures they quote.

By their fruit.

What fruit do they have?
Are people healed? Freed? Fed? Housed? Loved?
Is community growing? Is provision flowing? Is truth being spoken?

If not, the names mean nothing.

So let them talk

Let them drop reverend dad.
Let them drop evangelist mom.
Let them drop Moses and Jesus and Paul.

You keep watching for fruit.
You keep looking at what's actually produced.
You keep trusting what you see, not what they claim.

And when they have no fruit, no provision, no community, no evidence?

You'll know.
