Not in the slightest where they more privileged in 1500 than today....

Saying a peasant was wealthier is a stretch. They might have had more holidays, but those were mostly because you literally couldn't farm in the dark or the frozen mud. Their "work" was literally survival. If you didn't spend those hours hauling water, chopping wood, or mending wool, you simply didn't survive the season.

Today you flip a switch and water is there.
You can go to a grocery store and buy a steak.
