I wanted more bitcoin but no easy way to do it and I didn’t want to pay penalties
#1 only makes sense if you assume no retirement fund. In this case getting into Unchained in self custody is superior to leaving funds vulnerable to government looting.
If things get as bad as I think they will you’ll most likely outlive the regime anyway. But will your savings? Big question.
